Day 7 in Thai

Sink laundry wasn’t dry so had to get the hairdryer on it.

After brek we saw the chef come out the toilet after pooing and didn’t wash her hands 🤢

Off to the bridge over the river Kwai and war museum. Built by British and Australian prisoners of war. The railway went from Thailand to Burma to transport goods during the war, 4000km long. Middle bit was bombed twice by Americans so had to be rebuilt but the rest is original.

PoW were transported from Singapore to Thailand in small boxcars for four days with no room to lay down and 40 hours at a time without food.

The camps they stayed in when building the railway were 28 men per 8 man tent, cooking meat crawling with maggots and skimming them off the top of the stew once it was cooked.

Walked round one of the cemetery’s for the POW’s. Depressing.

Tanya bought us all banana fritters to cheer us up šŸ˜

Back on the bus again to Ayutthaya. Crispy wonton pad Thai en route.

Arrive at Ayutthaya hotel. Quick dip in the pool before heading to the night market. Chinese shrimp, squid on a stick, squid ball, corn on the cob, salmon cheese ball, fishcake, garlic bread and chocolate pastry stick. Plus loads of free samples šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼
