Super early 7am check in for our reef tour. Fruit and mini muffins served on board before departure. Managed to nab a spot on the sun loungy net things at the front of the cat but had to go back inside for my dive briefing. Taught us how to equalise and clear our masks of water etc. Got tanked up and had to sit next to some guy who wouldn’t shut up for ages when I was tryna freak out silently.
Arrived at our first dive location and practiced our tings before heading on down. Four of us held on to the instructors arms whilst he took us down to the coral. Got down and he let us go and I instantly floated back to the top and the others disbursed elsewhere. Had to reconvene on the surface for him to sass us about not being collaborative as a group and then we had to stay holding on to him the whole time. Good for ol Loz as I’m a floater. Saw a turt 🐢
Finished the dive and spent the remainder of the time there snorkelling. Lots of funky fish and coral to see.
Had a lovely lunch on board and then carried on to our second spot; ‘the edge’. Did some top qual snorkelling.
Got my spot back on the tan net for the two hour boat ride back to Cairns.
Micks’ last night in Oz. Classy meal it is. Went to a lovely tapas style place and had the best meal of the hol.
